Would you, a freelancer, like to HACK LinkedIn ProFinder? Would you like to get in ahead of other competitors to get your proposal before that great client?
This hack such a powerful technique that even if you generally find the platform effective, you might want to use it for really good prospects.
While I’ve heard about this hack from others, Josh Hoffman from Epic Freelancing has a great good video to walk you it. I’m going to give you the overview and link to his video at the end.
I’m assuming that you’ve been vetted as a freelance professional, or Pro, on ProFinder. But you want a better shot a getting the business from desirable prospects. Then this video is for YOU!
There are two steps to Josh’s hack:
Step 1 – Find Prospect’s Email
Once you get a promising proposal request, copy the title (the headline) which describes that person. Paste that into LinkedIn Search to find them. Then see if they display their email under their contact information.
If you can’t get it there, put their name and business into Google and search. On their company About or Team page, see if that person’s email is listed.
Or find anyone’s email from the company and use that email format to guess at the requester’s business email.
The point of getting the email is to get into the requester’s inbox before others, even if the person does not respond to you through ProFinder.
Step 2 Build Trust By SHOWING What You Can Do
Create a proposal that not only tells but also SHOWS what you can do to deliver what that person wants. Maybe provide a sample post, design or industry tip.
Since Josh Hoffman is a graphic designer, he creates a “digital marketing prospectus” which you can see at 4:46 in his video. He uses templates from the online graphics platform Canva.com and customizes them for the client
Also provide social proof showing the success others have had with your work product.
Most important, though, is to, show that your goals exactly match what that person desires.
